Question by David: Any difference from wearing ballet tights or leggings for ballet class?
Is there any difference from wearing leggings or ballet tights during a ballet class, does one keep warmer that the other or so?
Answer by Mineagoddla
Tights make it easier for a ballet teacher to see your muscles. As you are a male dancer, you need to wear a dance belt and men’s tights which a bit thicker than women’s tights. If you are a serious dancer, you don’t wear leggings.
You can read more about men’s dance where here.
@Dougaa- Leggings are not the same as men’s footless tights. At least they are not called that in the USA. You can wear footless tights in class with white ballet socks but not the thicker leggings.
Cologne (Köln) Germany: Bronze sculpture of singer Jupp Schmitz
A statue in memory of the poet, comedian and performer Jupp Schmitz is located on the square named after him, which lies parallel to the Hohe Straße.
This sculpture (by Cologne artist Olaf Höhnen) is much smaller than the image suggests. It shows the popular singer Jupp Schmitz (1901-1991) who wrote and performed many songs in his local dialect. His nickname was “Schnäuzer” (“moustache”); the first name “Jupp” is the Cologne version of Joseph. As is indicated by his hat Jupp Schmitz was one of the stars of the Cologne carnival.

Question by Dancinbeby: How should I dress up for my Halloween ballet class?
My ballet teacher is letting us dress up for our ballet class, and i don’t really have any idea what to be. I have tons of old dance costumes, but I’m not sure which ones will still fit. any ideas?
-need to be able to dance in (not baggy, etc.)
-need to be remotely comfortable
-possibly be understandable (not something that would be hard for someone to guess) and cute!
