How do I get prepared for a ballet class?

Question by it’s me 😀: How do I get prepared for a ballet class?
I’m 16, and I wanted to take a beginning ballet class in a nearby community college. I just want to take it for fun, not to be a professional dancer or anything. I took a dance class for a semester in the eight grade. (I don’t know if this will help) I want to know what I need to do to get prepared for this class. I was also wondering…on the first day of class, what would you learn? Do you need to have your leotard, tights, and shoes ready? Thanks(:

I am starting a college ballet class and wondering what should I wear?

Question by Powderpuff: I am starting a college ballet class and wondering what should I wear?
I am a bit overweight 150 lbs but hold it mostly in my bust and thighs. I plan to wear leotard and tights at least under my clothing so what can I wear on top to make it a bit more modest. I’ll more than likely be running to my next class directly after my ballet class so it needs to be somewhat appropriate for class. I know you can wear yoga pants and such but can you get those from a dancer store?
Also, what do you wear under the leotard? Do you wear panties and bra?

Ballet Dance Music for an interpretive representation of Elements?

ballet class music

Question by Betty: Ballet Dance Music for an interpretive representation of Elements?
So for my ballet class’s year-end recital we would like to do an interpretive dance representing Elements. 1 problem though: We can’t find good music! We need a section of instrumental music for fire, water, lightning, natural (like nature and grass and stuff). The one that I have a really hard time finding is the one for fire. Help?!
By instrumental I mean NO LYRICS, INSTRUMENTS ONLY. Preferably something we wouldn’t hear on the radio. Hopefully Classical/Modern Ballet themed.

How long to see results from doing ballet?

Question by Sophie: How long to see results from doing ballet?
I’m going to start ballet classes next week in hope of losing weight and getting a leaner more sculpted body! How long does it take to see notable changes in your body when you practice ballet? Besides better posture and flexibility I mean!
Thanks!
