What are some exercises I could do at home to prepare for ballet classes in the summer?

Question by Angie: What are some exercises I could do at home to prepare for ballet classes in the summer?
Alright, so I’ve been thinking about re-taking ballet (I took ballet for one year when I was 8) at age 13. I’ve contacted the dance school in my area where I plan on taking classes from, but they’re only taking new students in the summer, because the end-of-the school year dance recital is coming up soon. The school I called said to call back in April or May to register for ballet classes, so I’ve still got about 3 or more months to go before I’m able to actually go to any classes.

While I wait, what are some things I could do at home to prepare for ballet? I know there’s stuff like practice the feet and hand positions, work in balance, flexibility, and overall strength, and also feet turnout. Any tips on how to work on these areas?
