The Association of Hungarian Dance Artists is a professional umbrella organization for dance companies and individual artists operating in all forms and genres, the prime communication centre of dance art in the country. It was founded in 1948 and reinstalled in 1954; since then, its operations have been uninterrupted. Its presidents included Dr Géza Körtvélyes, Imre Eck, Imre Dózsa, Gyula Harangozó, Jr., János Kiss, Tamás Juronics, and Gábor Mihályi (since 2009).
As a venue for professional Hungarian ensembles, creative and performing artists, educational institutes, and researchers within the country and abroad, in 2013, the association numbered 46 member companies, institutions, and organizations. It has mediated between the various realms of dance art as well as other branches all over the country.
Foundation for the art of dance in Hungary
Established in 1995 this public-benefit foundation aims to support creativity, performance, and academic activity in all forms of dance including ballet, folk dance, contemporary dance, and other fields, as well as to raise the public esteem and social status of dancers and dance.
